Recruiting for Temporary Judges

The Los Angeles Superior Court is recruiting for Temporary Judges.  If any of your members are looking to enhance their legal skills and to support the administration of justice in Los Angeles County, becoming a Temporary Judge is for them.  The Los Angeles Superior Court will be conducting a mandatory Bench Conduct and Demeanor training on September 10, 2019. MCLE credit is provided for this training and pre-paid reservations should be received no later than September 3, 2019. This training is mandatory for any qualified attorney interested in sitting in Small Claims, Traffic, Family Law, Civil Harassment, Unlawful Detainers and Civil Collections.The attached flyer provides detailed information regarding this training. Job Opening: Counseling Attorney

Within established legal, University, and Departmental policies and guidelines, counsel registered University students about the student client’s legal rights and obligations. Conduct the legal research required to analyze and assess the student client’s case; negotiate with other parties on behalf of the student client; research, write, and present legal documents to the student client and/or assist the student client in drafting such documents. Prepare student clients to represent themselves in court, as appropriate. The incumbent works 80% time between September and June, and 100% time in July and August.

Job Opening: Records Clerk

This position is responsible for maintaining records for the Firm’s clients, attorneys, paraprofessionals, and secretaries according to the Firm’s established policies and procedures, including retention and electronic records management. The role comprises a combination of records management duties under the supervision of the Records Supervisor and requires the ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in the day-to-day operation of records maintenance and tracking. Responsibilities include achieving a high quality work product and coordinating the appropriate disposition (via storage or otherwise) of closed materials. In addition, this position supports the Office Services Department and Receptionist on a daily basis. Must also work as a team player and maintain a good rapport with coworkers and internal clients.
