Past PABA Scholarship Recipient Spotlight:
Toni Jaramilla
How important is it to support our students?
As Toni Jaramilla, a past PABA Scholarship recipient and former PABA President recalls, “I was a 1st year law student when PABA awarded me a scholarship. It could not have come at a better time. It not only helped me buy a computer and pay for books which I could not otherwise afford, but it showed me that I was not alone; that there are attorneys in my community who share my culture and passion for justice, and who are rooting for me to succeed.”
Since 1994, Toni has created positive social change through dedicated and compassionate advocacy for rights of workers. As founder of Toni Jaramilla, A Professional Law Corporation, she has successfully litigated hundreds of cases of discrimination, racial and sexual harassment, wrongful termination, disability accommodations, leave law violations, retaliation/whistleblower, and wage and hour claims. She has also held various leadership positions as the former President of the California Employment Lawyers Association, former President of the Foundation for Advocacy Inclusion and Resources, and Chair/Executive Board Member of the State Bar, Labor & Employment Law Section.
Join PABA and The PABA Foundation on May 5, 2020 at a virtual happy hour, where we will be raising funds for law students and recent graduates. Proceeds generated from this campaign will provide emergency relief funds to qualified law students in need of financial assistance during these challenging times.
